Light through the cracks

Not much to babble today. Just two art journal pages based on the title of this post. 'Light through the cracks is the title of Ann's art journal. I have older post about the art journal round robin @ milliande. So I had to create a page in Ann's journal; it is a small book, so I created a double page. I like the title and I recognize it in my life. My Moleskine art journal was nearby and I did a page for myself. We have those days in our life and it is a relief if and when we see light coming through the cracks. Blessings to all of you^_^

Louise's page in Anne's "Light through the cracks"

Have just finished my page in Anne's gorgeous journal

Sometimes I struggle with the themes and I just need to wait till inspiration strikes,

Once I found this quote the page just flowed.

"When the Japanese mend broken objects, they aggrandize the damage by filling the cracks with gold, they believe that when something's suffered and has a history it becomes more beautiful."

Anne's journal

Anne's journal, "Light Through The Crack",  arrived in December. I understand the meaning of the saying, but, how would I express it in her journal? I spent a long time contemplating about this. Ideas, just did not come. I'm a very literal thinker. I never was good at deep thinking.

I decided to go with dark colors for the background. An idea came to mind. Half way done and I had to walk away. It wasn't working. I would pass this little journal and think, "How do I express this?". I found this quote by Joseph Carpenter, " The black moment is the moment when the real message of the transformation is going to come. At the darkest moment comes the light."

After several more attempts this is what I came up with. Thanks, Anne, for giving me something to shake my brain into thinking different. The light eventually  found a crack.
